Insurance & Excess Amounts

  1. Third Party Cover (Motor Liability Insurance, Legal Liability Insurance)

What’s covered?

  • The policy covers third parties in case of death or disability when using the Alonnisos Travel vehicle, including passengers (but excluding the driver), up to €1,300,000and
  • material damages to third parties up to €1,300,000.

What’s not covered?

  • Theft or attempted theft of the vehicle
  • Theft of personal belongings from the vehicle
  • Death or injury to the driver
  • Damage to the rental vehicle

What’s the cost?

  • The cost is included in the rental price
  1. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

What’s covered?

  • The renter (driver) is covered for up to €50,000 in case of death or full or partial disability and
  • up to €2,000 for hospital costs.

What’s not covered?

  • Any accidents occurring outside of the vehicle are not covered
  • neither are any accidents incurred pre- or post- rental period.

What’s the cost?

  • The cost is included in the rental price
  1. Vehicle Theft And Fire Protection Cover (TP – theft/fire protection)

What’s covered?

  • It covers the renter for full or partial loss of the car
  • The cost of replacing the rental car (either wholly or in part) if it is stolen
  • €600For Cars groups A, B & F      
  • €650For Cars groups C, C1  
  • € 750 For cars groups C2, C3
  • €800For Cars groups D, D1, D2, F1, J    
  • €1000 For Cars group J1

What’s not covered?

  • Negligence regarding the loading of the AT vehicle (i.e., unsupervised vehicle or forgotten keys)
  • Damages or theft of personal belongings kept in the car
  • Accidents that occurred after the theft

What’s the cost?

  • The cost is included in the rental price
  1. Collision Damage Cover (CDW, collision damage waiver, LDW in Australia-NZ-USA)

What’s covered?

  • If the rental car is damaged (except by attempted theft) the renter will be covered for the cost of repairs to the Alonnisos Travel vehicle.
  • The renter will, however, have to pay up to a maximum of 
  • €600For Cars groups A, B & F       
  • €650For Cars groups C, C1   
  • € 750 For cars groups C2, C3
  • €800For Cars groups D, D1, D2, F1, J     
  • €1000 For Cars group J1

What’s not covered?

  • Damage caused intentionally or by negligence
  • Damage caused by using incorrect fuel
  • Damage caused as a result of a breach of the rental agreement’s terms and conditions
  • Damage caused at the bottom or the top of the car, at the antenna or the mirrors.

What’s the cost?

  • The cost is included in the rental price
  1. Super Collision Damage Cover  (S.C.D.C)  (50% Excess Reduction)

What’s covered?

  • It reduces the limited excess to 50% (C.D.W). By buying this insurance the limited excess will be reduced in half (self-provoked damages) also theft, fire, full cover and roadside assistance.
    • € 300for cars Groups A, B, F 
    • € 325for cars Groups C, C1
    • € 375for cars Groups C2, C3
    • € 400 for cars Groups D, D1, D2, F1 & J,
    • € 500 for cars Groups J1.

What’s not covered?

  • Damage caused intentionally or by negligence
  • Damages caused to tires, mirrors, or the lower part of the car
  • Damage caused by using incorrect fuel
  • Damage caused as a result of a breach of the rental agreement’s terms and conditions
  • Damage caused because of Acts of God and terrorist attacks
  • Damage caused while the AT vehicle when ferrying
  • Damages or theft of personal belongings kept in the car

What’s the cost?

  • The cost is 4€ per day.
  1. Super Cover (ZERO Excess)

What’s covered?

  • This eliminates the excess amounts of CDW and Theft Cover for all car groups.
  • A mandatory condition is that the renter completes and signs the Alonnisos Travel accident report before the end of the rental period.
  • If another vehicle is involved in the accident to the Alonnisos Travel car, it is mandatory that the renter calls the Roadside Assistance Company specified by Alonnisos Travel, to verify details of the accident and photograph the vehicles involved.

What’s not covered?

  • Damage caused intentionally or by negligence
  • Damage caused by using incorrect fuel
  • Damage caused as a result of a breach of the rental agreement’s terms and conditions
  • Damage caused because of Acts of God and terrorist attacks
  • Damage caused while the Alonnisos Travel vehicle is on-board any ship

What’s the cost?

  • €10/day, in addition to CDW
  1. Roadside Assistance

What’s covered?

  • Assistance will be provided if cars keys are lost or locked inside the car
  • Assistance will be provided in case of a flat battery
  • Replacement of flat tires with the spare and/or transportation of the vehicle to the nearest garage for repair of the damaged tire
  • Assistance will be provided in cases of the vehicle running out of fuel

What’s not covered?

  • The cost of replacement keys in case of loss
  • Damage to tires caused by driving in areas prohibited under the terms of the rental agreement, or damage caused intentionally or by negligence, ie driving some distance on a flat tire so rendering it irreparable
  • Battery damage caused intentionally or by negligence
  • The cost of any fuel supplied as a result of running out of fuel

What’s the cost?

€1/day, in addition to CDW

  • Customers purchasing Super Cover Insuranceare entitled to all the benefits of Roadside Assistance, free of charge
  1. What is “excess”?
  • In the event of an accident to – or theft of – the vehicle, a sum of money (called an excess) must be paid.
  • Extra insurance, which is not automatically included in the price of your car hire, will either remove or reduce this amount. This can be bought when you collect your Alonnisos Travel car. All prices are inclusive of VAT.
  1. What does “additional driver” mean?

The rental car is insured for one person – the named driver. If others are to drive your Alonnisos Travel car, then those people need to be present and show their driving licenses when the car is picked up.

  • There will be an additional charge for each driver (1E/Day).

IN CASE OF AN INCIDENT, ACCORDING TO ARTICLE K70 OF GREEK LΑW, THE CUSTOMER IS OBLIGED TO COMPLETE AN INCIDENT REPORT FORM, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHOM IS RESPONSIBLE
